Privacy Policy

529 (“529,” “we,” “us”) is operated by Austin Seydler, a sole proprietor based in Texas. This Privacy Policy explains what information 529 collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.

You give us some of this directly:

• · Account info: name, email, username, password (stored by our authentication provider, never in plain text), and an optional profile photo.
• · Fitness data: workouts, splits, food log entries, bodyweight, custom trackers, and your coach-matching survey answers.
• · Coaching activity: session bookings, messages with coaches or clients, reviews, and — for coach applicants — your application, resume, and certifications.
• · Payment info: handled directly by Stripe. 529 does not receive or store your full card number.

We also collect some information automatically:

• · Usage data such as pages visited and actions taken in the app, used to keep the Service working and improve it.
• · Device and log data (IP address, browser type, timestamps) standard to any web application.
• · A push notification subscription, only if you opt in.

• · To operate the Service: your account, trackers, calculators, and coach matching.
• · To process payments and coach payouts.
• · To send transactional email: sign-up confirmation, password resets, and coach application updates.
• · To keep the Service secure and prevent abuse.
• · To improve 529 based on how it’s actually used.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your health or fitness data for advertising.

529 uses a small number of service providers to run the app. Each only receives the data it needs to do its job:

• · Stripe — payment processing and coach payouts.
• · Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage (avatars, coach application attachments).
• · Resend — transactional email delivery.
• · Groq — powers AI food estimates; the food description you type is sent to Groq to generate a nutrition estimate.
• · Open Food Facts — a public nutrition database used as a fallback for food search.
• · Fly.io — application hosting.

We may also share information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of 529 or our users.

When you book a session, some information — your name, username, and messages you send — is necessarily visible to the coach or client on the other side of that relationship. Coaches keep private session notes about their clients that clients cannot see.

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings, which permanently deletes your profile, tracking data, and stored files (like your avatar). Some records — such as completed payment transactions — may be retained by our payment processor as required for accounting, tax, or legal compliance even after account deletion.

You can review and edit most of your data directly in the app — Settings shows exactly what 529 stores for your account. You can correct your profile at any time, and delete your account entirely whenever you want. If you have a request we can’t handle through the app, contact us using the email below.

529 is not directed at, and is not intended for use by, anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls on our infrastructure. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
